Memorial Hospital for Children is southern Colorado’s only Level IIIb Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Steve Duren managed the construction of the project as the on-site representative for the architectural firm. Memorial Hospital for Children was a $110 M, four level, 360,000 sf. facility which includes an Emergency Department with triage, 70 ED exam rooms, three radiology suites, one CT, a behavioral suite, a maternal fetal medicine center, an 18 bed women’s pavilion, a 15 room birthing center, c-section ORs, obstetric screening rooms, a newborn nursery, 32 mother/baby units, 57 bed NICU, 31 bed pediatric unit, 16 bed PICU, a pediatric observation area, and a pulmonary/sleep center. In addition, services are also provided for oncology, rehabilitation, surgery, neurosurgery, and urgent and after-hours care. Memorial Hospital for Children provides the only Autism and Developmental Disorder Clinic in southern Colorado.
